It is never too late to learn how to glow up in a month and enhance your mental, physical, and emotional wellbeing.
The process of glowing up is an act of self-love: you are pouring time, energy, and attention into becoming the most authentic version of yourself.
With the following glow up guide, you’ll be ready to transform your entire life over the next thirty days.
This post is all about how to glow up in a month.
How to Glow Up in a Month
While I know a month may not seem like a long time, you have to keep reminding yourself that it’s going to create a much bigger impact than you can imagine.
By challenging yourself to work through a month-long glow up, you’ll reinvent yourself by the time the month is over.
So keep scrolling because below, I’ll show you exactly how to glow up in 30 days and feel like a new woman!
What is a glow up?
A glow up is a mental, physical, and an emotional transformation–one that leaves you feeling reborn.
As you leverage glow up tips to become a more authentic version of yourself, you’ll feel radiant, mature, confident, and proud in your own skin.
Most importantly, I truly think that glow ups are an inside job: no matter how much you try to fix your outer appearance, you won’t be feeling your best until you address what’s going on within you.
Thus, glowing up is not necessarily about changing your essence. It is about building up the foundation you’ve set in your life by making strategic changes and improvements.
With the right mindset and dedication, you’ll see some drastic differences in a short period of time.
What is the glow up challenge?
Ready to hear all the best glow up secrets?
Well, let’s dive into the logistics behind this thirty day challenge:
This exercise is all about remaining disciplined and persistent. By incorporating the following habits into your life over the next thirty days, you will unearth your true potential.
To effectively complete the challenge, all you have to do is stay consistent in using the glow up techniques discussed below.
Also, the timing of this challenge is not super relevant. You can do a glow up:
- During a winter month when you have less on your plate
- In May, leading up to a busy summer season
- Before a big occasion, like your birthday or the new year
Basically, you can have a glow up month any time of the year!
Now that you understand the basics, I’m so excited to get into the glow up tips. I’m positive they’ll help you redefine your identity, upgrade your lifestyle, and provide a tremendous boost of energy (and motivation).
How can I glow up in a month?
Yay, here we are: the must-know 30 day glow up challenge!
To follow this glow-up challenge and see REAL results, remember to incorporate it into your daily routine (this is major!).
This will likely involve getting out of your comfort zone and testing out strategies that maybe haven’t worked in your life before.
Remember to keep an open mind, be patient with yourself, and focus on your end goal: know your WHY and keep envisioning how you’ll feel when the challenge is over.
SIDE NOTE:
One way I’ve kept motivation when glowing up is using a vision board! I make mine as a hard copy and a Pinterest board, filled with:
- Inspiring pictures
- Quotes that resonate with my life situation
- Idealized, fantasy images of my future
- Places I want to travel
- Dream house goals, and more!
Last but not least, know that the first week is going to be an adjustment, but as each day will get a little easier.
So here’s what you need to do for the next four weeks to master your glow-up:
WEEK 1
Stop drinking so much coffee
The first task on the challenge list brings me back to one of my favorite glow up quotes:
“The glow up starts within – love yourself enough to become who you want to be.”
– self assembly guide
And while it may seem loosely connected, cutting coffee from your life (or reducing your consumption) is a signal that you are willing to do what it takes to level up.
Drinking too much caffeine can cause jittery feelings, sleeplessness, and added stress.
So, take this challenge period as a time to experiment with decreasing or eliminating your coffee addiction, and see how your body responds.
Hydrate your body
As you undergo your one month to glow up, you’ll realize how important water is to your body!
Stay hydrated with a glass of water, and add lemon or cucumber for a fresh hint of flavor.
Water is essential to our lives and can provide a ton of benefits:
- Weight management
- Endurance for your workouts
- Enhanced brain function
- Less headaches
- Clearer skin, and more!
Journal every day
While you’re in this glow up era, make sure you’re journaling every day!
Use these self-growth journal prompts to guide your entries… and along the way, you’ll form such a better understanding of yourself, your past, and where you’re headed in the future.
Listen to self-love podcasts
Throughout the month–and especially on week one–make sure you fill your mind with inspiring content.
Listening to self-love and self-help podcasts also teaches you coping techniques and refined mindsets to build a glowed up version of yourself.
Set a consistent morning and evening routine
In order to truly master this glow up challenge, you’ll have to change up your morning and night routines to serve this new version of you!
By waking up earlier and winding down throughout the night, making space for all of your priorities, you slowly feel more relaxed and in charge of your life.
Finally, to stay consistent, make sure these routines jive with your desired lifestyle and leave room for personal and professional growth.

WEEK 2
Learn how to meditate
Moving on with the best advice for how to glow up in a healthy way, let’s talk about guided meditations.
By incorporating this spiritual wellness activity into your life, you’re opening up space to reflect and reignite your spark.
Meditation has several emotional and physical health benefits, including:
- Acquiring a new outlook on stressful situation
- Building a tool belt to cope with stress
- Boosting your self-awareness
- Grounding you in the present
- Decreasing negative thought patterns
- Opening up your creative brain waves
- Making you a more patient, tolerant human being
- Healing from past trauma
- Lowering your resting heart rate
Use calming scents in your environment
An absolute must as a glowed up girly is a good smelling environment.
We all have our own tastes, but gentle scents like vanilla, rose, and jasmine are sure to bring a relaxed, motivating aura to your space.
Scent is a powerful tool that many of us don’t use enough… so make it a point to incorporate it into your pampering routine!
Final note: you can use scent to calm anxiety by taking a hot bath with scented salts, burning incense, or diffusing essential oils throughout your room.
Get organized
Clutter and disorganization do not match the glow girl energy we’re going for here!
Clean up your home, especially the problem spots:
- Bedroom
- Closet
- Desk
- Home office
- Car
- Junk drawers
In addition, be sure to review your digital files as well by clearing out old folders, downloads, and emails you never subscribed to in the first place.
While it may feel strenuous, I promise you’ll feel so accomplished and light once you’re done.
Eat nutritious foods
Next, a huge part of this glow up challenge list is fueling your body properly–and that means being cautious of the food you’re consuming.
You know what you like best, but be sure to eat intuitively and shop for organic produce.
Cook yourself dinner more often than you eat out, and remember that while you may be making progress in the gym, the kitchen is where change happens!
Spend more time outdoors
The last point for week two is to spend more time present outdoors. Listen to all five senses and become one with the world around you.
When you expose yourself to green spaces, you’re allowing the fresh air and vitamin D to soothe your emotional wellbeing on a daily basis.
Final note: if you aren’t an outdoors person now, start slow with a few minutes a day. Then, work up to taking a longer hike or lounging in your backyard for an hour.
WEEK 3
Cut the procrastination
Can you believe you’re at week three already? You’re doing such a great job and you should be super proud of yourself!
Another super important part of becoming the highest version of yourself is cutting out habits you know aren’t serving you… and procrastination is definitely one of them!
Start tracking when you’re neglecting to complete a task, and choose to override that behavior with a new habit.
You can even reward yourself when you finish the first few objectives, and start building a track record of success with yourself.
Get vulnerable with yourself (and others)
As I mentioned in the beginning, your inner glow-up translates to your outer appearance.
A huge part of this means improving your mental health, and being vulnerable about past experiences.
For example, when you can acknowledge what you’re endured without being embarrassed or shamed, and connect with others who may have experienced a similar situation, you are subconsciously moving past any lingering guilt.
By adopting this vulnerable approach, you’re becoming a way more mature, honest version of yourself–one that people will respect and cherish!
Upgrade your wardrobe
In addition, there’s no better way to enhance your glow up aesthetic than through improving your wardrobe!
By setting a new style for yourself, you’re saying goodbye to the old, insecure version of yourself and hello to a radiant, glowing version of you.
Here are some wellness fashion essentials to spark your rebrand:
Take care of your finances
THIS ONE IS HUGE (AND OVERLOOKED!!!).
Now, I know many of us may be just graduating or early careers… but there is no more important time to think about finances than right now!
Being independent is a huge component to feeling fully glowed up and mature: and owning your life (and your money story) is arguably the most crucial piece of that puzzle.
Stretch every day
Finally, to end week three, remember to incorporate stretching throughout your one month glow up. This is something many of us know we should do, but don’t make the time for.
By tending to your tense muscles, you make it easier to exercise, sleep soundly, and maintain good posture.

WEEK 4
Date yourself
We’re at week four already… the final push of this how to glow up mini series.
And while you have been doing it all month without titling it this, I can promise you glowing up is all about dating yourself!
By setting aside time each day for YOU, to take yourself out to lunch, complete a craft, or volunteer, you’re building your rapport.
You’re also making yourself so much more confident, fierce, and brave–all skills that will help you foster deeper connections with others.
Get to sleep earlier
Since this glow up challenge is all about taking exquisite care of yourself, this is your reminder to ensure you get a good night’s sleep.
Be proactive about getting yourself in bed earlier:
- Wind down early and eat dinner earlier to keep your body on schedule
- Avoid TV shows just before bed
- Try to stay off screens at least one hour before falling asleep
- Listening to soothing music
- Sleep in an environment that feels comfortable to you: dimly lit, quiet, etc.
Develop a passion for reading
One thing about wellness girls is they are super educated and refined! And a huge piece of that means staying abreast on culture and industry trends.
So, make it a point to become a voracious reader this month.
- Subscribe to local and national news outlets
- Read through LinkedIn posts pertaining to your professional industry
- Make a goal of reading 3-5 self-discovery books
Remember, this shouldn’t be overwhelming–it should be an enriching, exciting way of connecting with the world around you!
TIP: block twenty minutes each night to read your article of choice and gradually, you’ll strengthen your reading muscle.
Change up your hairstyle
Additionally, one of the greatest pieces of how to have a glow up advice is to change your hairstyle!
Nothing screams moving upward and onward than cutting your hair or dying it a new color.
Not only will you feel like a new woman when you look in the mirror, but you’ll notice a shift within you as you embody this redefined version of yourself.
Whiten your teeth
During week four, you’ll be focusing on the finishing touches of your glow up–and whitening your teeth is a simple but impactful way to up your appearance.
Consider using a pair of Crest Whitestrips, or getting your teeth professionally touched up, so that they appear whiter and cleaner.
Coffee and tea are two of the worst things for stained teeth, so using a tooth whitener can boost your self-confidence and make you more comfortable smiling!
Set a realistic exercise routine
Last but not least, in order to complete your glow up challenge, stick to an exercise routine that meets your physical health goals.
- Sign up for a fun group fitness class
- Ride your Peloton bike for thirty minutes
- Have an hour long strength workout at your local gym
- Go for a long run outdoors
- Complete an at-home workout program
